I have always encourage my boy to participate as much as possible in his school activities. It will definitely help him to gain exposure and probably unearth some talents in him. Also, it will make school more interesting and fun. Wesley Methodist has a lot to offer in terms of exposure.
Hmm, never thought that this good intention of mine backfires. Yesterday, I found out by chance through his facebook posting that he has been feeling uneasy with his concert practices. That day in the car, he mentioned that he has to partner an Indian fat girl from Form 1 in his concert dance and the rest of his friends partner with Chinese girls. I didnt really sense anything wrong with it until I came across his posting.
He posted that he regretted for not saying no (probably to me) and he also posted 'tahan tahan tahan...one more month to go' (before the concert ends). Gee, he really doesnt enjoy his concert dance. Told him it will be fun but it wasnt fun at all due to the partner he assigned to. Poor thing. Well, life is not always about good experience. When it turns out unexpectedly, there is a lesson to learn. In this case, probably the ability to adapt and tolerance.
Since Wesley has many other concert involvement like dance, ensemble, choir, props, play, etc., I suggest that he should probably try it all out and see what fits him most. Whether good or bad experience, these experiences will make life interesting. Hopefully he understands this fact.
