Today is 6.6.11 and I just got back from Tioman yesterday after a 4-day holiday with families and friends. There were 52 of us i.e. my family, CC family, JL family, Cheri family, Joanne family, Choy Wan family, LCL brother and sister family, Lau Ser family, Ming family, etc. In fact this trip has been long overdue, LCL has talked about it since two years back but nobody took heed until early this year when CC asked me to arrange an island trip together, I thought of it. So, there we went together in a big party. LCL did the booking for us at Paya Beach Resort. We drove our own cars for almost 4 hours to reach Mersing jetty and then took a boat ride for another 1.5 hours to reach our destination.
Early morning, around 6:30am, we had dims um at Jln Ipoh before we all meet up at Nilai rest area. We were in a group of 10 cars and slowly we made our way there together. We had lunch at Mersing before we finally boarded the boat.
The trip was good with beautiful beach and clear sea water. The only drawback is our room that was in a bad shape. It was run down and smelly too. Well, we tolerated it and it didnt stop us from having fun. The food were yummy especially the grilled seafood every night with nice and quite cheap beer. All in all, it cost each families $330 for the food on top of our $1750 package price. Since JL suggested that we use our fund for this trip, I guess I must thanks dad for it. At first, I was quite reluctant to make the trip as I am not sociable type of person but I am glad I made the trip.
I noticed that the kids were especially happy with CC and JL families around because they got to spend more time out in the sun or at play. My little gal always complain that TH and I never spend time playing with them. Felt a little guilty but I am glad that at least we did the snorkelling together. It was sunny and hot but we still went out to the deep blue sea and marine park for our snorkelling trip. This is the first time we brought our kids to snorkel and we had a great time. Though it was scary for a start but within moments, all of us still manage to jump into the sea and fed those colorful fishes with our hand. It was a close encounter with the fishes and it felt so good. I was extremely excited for the kids. They did well, JW enjoyed it tremendously, not wanting to leave the water. But my boy was not too enthusiastic, he preferred football and waterfall outing. Well, as long as they are happy, I am fine. Actually I prefer to go holiday with TH and my 2 kids but I know that I must not be selfish to keep them to myself only. They should mix around with their cousins and have fun together.
JW was a little down with her low EQ, unable to mix well on few occasion but I just dont know how to please her. When she had problem with water getting into her ears, she just showed her temper and put on her papaya face. That was really bad. I just wish she can speak up.
JS enjoyed football very much though he is not good at it but seeing him having fun and happy, it made me happy too. I wish he could be more daring to try out billiard or other games together with the rest of the kids there.
Today, I had a good day doing the loads of laundry and house work. The kids helped out and very soon our house is clean and tidy. In the afternoon, I got the kids to sit together and write an essay about Tioman trip. Initially, they got excited but soon, they didnt know what to write. I encouraged them to write down their feelings and not just an essay for the teacher. I showed them mine, to give them some ideas. Soon they finished writing and gee, not bad! I got to know what I didnt know. Wow, should ask them to write more often, this way I can understand them better. Thought I knew but actually I was wrong, silly me. Well, will post their essays in my blog later.
Sold my Hap Seng today and made about $3k. Will buy CC and JL karaoke session at CEO Fahrenheit this coming Sunday. Hope we will have some fun before the school starts on Monday.
