A Homeless Dog

Today is a Tuesday on 2.8.11 and I am rather disturbed over what I have witnessed this afternoon. I am now worried about a homeless dog outside my house.

This unfortunate afternoon, he was bitten badly by another neighbour dog (bad dog) that escaped from its house. I was in the kitchen making soup when I heard scream. I rushed out and saw the lady owner and her daughter screaming while trying to separate the two dogs. Their dog got loose when they opened the gate and attacked the poor dog until it bled profusely. I was helpless but lent a helping hand by using my water hose. The bad dog was fierce and refused to let go. It was until a Indian man passed by and helped. The poor dog was badly hurt and was subsequently chased away by the Indian man. Poor thing!

There is a personal story about this dog. A week after mom left me in 2007, my intuition got me to believe that mom left behind this dog to look after me and my family. My mom loves me so dearly that I really feel that she sent a guardian angel in her absence. The timing further convince me. A week after mom death, this dog was chase out by its owner who lives directly opposite my house. Heard this dog didnt want to bathe and bit its owner. For that reason, he was made homeless. But he never leave this place even though its owner has stop feeding him and never let him in the house again. For four years now, he has been living on the street and still guarding the house faithfully outside the gate. Its owner is so unforgiving and their heart is made of steel. So the poor dog ended up guarding my house too and has since dug a hole under my red palm tree outside and made a temporary home out of it. He is afraid of thunder. Whenever he hears it, he will run aimlessly and anxiously. There was once when it rained heavily and he came into my house. He just sat quietly at the corner of my gate in the rain, as if he was just taking a temporary shelter to wait for the rain to stop. He was so courteous and I was quite amazed by its attitude. He is absolutely a good dog, no doubt. Thought of keeping it initially but TH objected since he doesnt fancy dog. Moreover, I also worried he may bite us.

Hmm, he's now no where to be seen. I pray he will survive the attack. Mom, please bless the dog that u sent me. Let him be saved and find a good home.

Next day on 3.8.11 - Woke up feeling good, mom heard me. TH told me he saw the dog this morning outside the gate. Looked out for him but didnt see him until afternoon, saw him sleeping under the bad dog's owner's car just outside the house. Wow, so daring to sleep there eh. I took two pieces of bread from the fridge, spread kaya and fed him. He was delighted and finished it. I then opened my gate for him to come in and take shelter but he just stood outside wagging its tail. Probably he remembered the last time, we chased him out before and that he is not welcomed. Hmm, very intelligent dog. Thought of using dettol to splash on his injuries but didnt dare. Perhaps, i can help to feed him well so that he can recover fast from its injuries. Shall I make soup today so I can feed him with the pork meat later. It's already 1:15pm now, I better start make soup now, what soup should I make ya. Ok, ABC soup it will be, for my family and the dog!
