30.7.11 - I thought my boy is passionate for football but right now I have doubts. Passion is just not the right word. My boy seems to enjoy football merely for fun. He lacks strong will and determination to call football his passion. Not that I am disappointed but it worth jotting down this episode.
This morning he asked for our permission to join his friends for a football game at FRIM during the school holiday next month. Of course I have no objection, in fact I am a little proud of him for not giving up the game after his terrifying fracture incident at FRIM. I always want him to enjoy his games. But I feel that he should at least learn the basic techniques of football.
When I was out in the car porch washing the floor just now, he came out and played with his football. So I thought of testing him to see how passionate is he for the game. Told him to score 5 goals consecutively into the swing in the garden and he has my consent to the football game at FRIM. He was excited and continued to shoot over and over again. Well, since I know nothing about football, I cant help him. I can only encourage him by making him train hard and hopefully learn to master the game. I believe success comes with hard work. I believe even if my boy has no talent in the game, he can still make it if he practices extra hard.
It was just few attempts and he called it a quit. He said he will continue next week. Honestly, I didnt see his effort and he is just not interested in practising hard. Hmm.....
Anyhow, I hope he will continue to enjoy the game and find passion for it someday. No problem:)
