Unexpected Wedding Dinner Delight

18.9.11 - It was my neighbour Datuk and Datin Ng's son wedding and dinner was held just last nite at Concorde Hotel. As usual, I was reluctant to go but I did it out of social responsibilities. Luckily my family were there with me. I have never felt so much at ease before at a wedding dinner. Not only the dinner brought back some of the fond memories of my wedding 16 years ago in the same ballroom, we were seated with a couple who is our distance neighbour across the road. The wife called Molly sat beside me and she was extremely friendly and courteous. It was just six of us at Table 25. Sitting with my family together with the couple that evening somehow made me feel like I was just having a casual dinner with family and friends. Very comfortable! We all enjoyed the food especially JW. Happy to see her enjoy her food for the first time. Molly complimented the kids for their well manners. She said JS looks very much like me and thawt his smile is very charming and likable. Actually I already fore warned them to behave at the table and it turned out that they did a good job. They were jovial and well behaved. I love them very much.

In the middle of dinner, when TH returned to the table after toilet, the sole of his Versace shoe came off half way and out of embarassment, he quickly picked it up and quietly put it inside JW bag. We knew and it was just humorous.

Then, before dinner ended, we decided to make a move together with the couple to avoid the crowd. We quietly made our way out to the car park and only then, TH realized he left his handphone on the table. All of us panicked and got nervous. TH asked JS to go back for it as his shoe was damaged and inconvenient to go. JS panicked and asked me to follow him but at that moment, I dropped my earrings and was anxiously looking out for it. Realizing that JS had to go back alone, I was quite worried and decided to follow him but by the time I followed, the car park lift closed and he was gone. I was just too slow.

Gee, my boy was capable. He got it back and he got it back after some efforts. He spoke to the waiter and manager there and finally they gave it back to him. TH was so relieved and I was so proud and happy, not because of the handphone but because of my boy.

When we reached home, we had some fun with the balloons that my kids brought back from the dinner. It was filled with helium gas. The kids let go of their balloons and we watched them slowly disappeared in the dark sky. We were in good spirit that night. What a simple joy:)

What I thought would be a dreadful and boring dinner turned out to be a sweet delight. Life is just so unpredictable......
