Childhood Conditioning Made Sis a Victim

2 Feb 2012 - Suddenly I seem to understand the fact that a younger sibling tends to follow or even imitate what her sibling does. And true enough, to one extent, the elder sibling will get annoyed. I actually made my observation from my China trip two weeks ago. Normally the kids share a lot of things together when left alone, be it at home or on holiday. But in this China trip, I noticed JS tend to leave JW alone as he enjoyed mixing with the rest in the group, which is a good thing too. That explains that if one is given a choice, he or she may be conditioned differently.

Then, I recalled my own case. Mom was very close to her eldest sister and subsequently I was close to Helen due to the conditioning environment then. Helen used to share bed with me every weekend and we got close. At one point of my life, mom and Helen were so important that I told myself I cant live without them. However, this conditioning has indirectly affected my sister. Till now, she always say that she wish she has a elder brother who loves her fondly. I dont seem to understand why, but now, I think I do. I was closer to Helen than to her back then and I remembered that she used to follow and imitate us most of the time and I always get annoyed. Somehow, she was victimised by this condition. It was a condition by circumstance and it was unintentional. I hope one day, she will understand this.
